Vermont Farm Viability Program Intern

Information Systems Manager

VHCB seeks a full-time Information Systems Manager to provide energetic leadership in the application of information technology systems within the organization. The Manager will work collaboratively with the IT Advisory Team to prioritize the IT goals of the organization and will lead the implementation of identified projects, ensuring that all IT systems are accessible, secure, complete, and sustainable.

Qualifications: well rounded understanding of IT system architecture, database design, and familiarity with a broad variety of applications; demonstrated experience in project management and IT strategic planning; process oriented with excellent communication, facilitation, and collaboration skills; an interest in VHCB’s commitment to affordable housing and land conservation in Vermont. Able to communicate in plain English to non-tech staff.

Vermont Farm Viability Program Intern

The Vermont Farm Viability Program is seeking an intern to conduct research and outreach and to assist in event planning for conferences and trainings. Work will involve a combination of travel to farms and office time. Flexible schedule, 25-40 hours per week for up to 10-14 weeks.

Specific projects may include site visits to enrolled farms & photography of enrolled farmers; writing articles or stories about participants; surveying participants to gather business information; attending agricultural workshops and events to conduct outreach for the program; data analysis & database management; design work (outreach materials, website); event planning.

Qualifications: strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently. Experience with outreach, event planning, photography, data management, or graphic design, helpful.

Compensation: $8.60/hour. Personal transportation will be necessary; mileage will be reimbursed.
